Sweeping us from the battlefields of eighteenth-century Scotland to the exotic West Indies, Diana Gabaldon weaves magic once again in an exhilarating and utterly unforgettable novel. Their passionate encounter happened long ago by whatever measurement Claire Randall took. Two decades before, she had traveled back in time and into the arms of a gallant eighteenth-century Scot named Jamie Fraser. Then she returned to her own century to bear his child, believing him dead in the tragic battle of Culloden. Yet his memory has never lessened its hold on her.

In all reality, this book is like 4 in one. I dreamed about this book, twining it into my sleep as well as my days. This book, like the others, is written extremely well. The secrets are forgivable, the passion is real, and the journey is unforgettable. On to Drums Of Autumn! Pretty good summer reading By duimovochka As I progress through the series, I seem to like each following installment less than the one preceding it. I think that the first two books have told a complete story that didn't really need any further development.

If it wasn't just simple curiosity on my part I should have stopped after the second or, at the most, this third book and call it quits. As the story progresses it becomes more forced and artificial. There is no significant development of the characters, they just serve as props in the recounting of the new unlikely but numerous adventures. However, the book is easy to read, narration is flowing easily, and the language is very fine and rich. There's also some quiet and understated humour that sparkles from time to time.

So, enjoy while reading it and forget it as soon as you close the book. Claire's return is priceless. The print store is everything you could expect and more. Diana puts us through an emotional rollercoaster throughout the book particularly with Lord John Grey along with Jamie's side of the story throughout his 20 years.

From Claire's search for Jamie and the reunion to their adventures together, 'Voyager' keeps you engaged from beginning to end.. There are so many twists and turns to the story that will keep your stomach churning especially the cave scene and that British ship when you read Voyager, you'll see what I mean. The romance is abundant. I could not stop laughing. Although we all love Claire and Jamie, the character that stole the show in this book is Jamie's nephew wee Ian. Wee Ian is definitely Jamie Jr..

He is hilarious, stubborn and adventurous like his uncle. His encounters with women are just too funny. His interactions with his uncle and his Aunt Claire are just as sweet even when Jamie is angry at him. I cannot wait to read what he is up to in Drums of Autumn.

You must read Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber to get to the best book in the series so far the other two are really good as well. I'm sure the subsequent books are just as good or maybe even better.

Highly recommend it. See all customer reviews Download pdf. Remember me on this computer.
